  there is at least one book out there that shows that genesis was meant to be living parable for the ten commandments, each story in turn showing the consequences of violating them in order... never read the book through, but you can sort of feel the validity of it by examining the major stories and their consequences.

  adam and eve having other god[s] before them -themselves and the serpent?

  people disrespecting the name of God prior to the flood

  the adulteration of the human species by angelic invaders

  Are Your Morals The Same As When You Were A Witness?

  i guess that i can say, from a biblical viewpoint, anyone that practices "fornication", having sex without being married, would be "immoral".

  other than, i don't lie or cheat or steal or even kill anyone else!

  do you view yourself a "moral" or "immoral" person and why?

  jW morality is based on their read of a fantasy document giving fantasy ideals as the only morality, so obviously, now living in a different world, I have a different view of morality.

  my current morality is based on empathy. what I find harmful, I assume harms others, who I see as part of my extended self and would not inflict upon them. what I find pleasant I seek to share with others.

  Prayer a Waste of Time?

  how often do you hear about prayer at the meeting that, if you should pray that if jehovah wills that he should do something?

  to me, this is a total waste of time to pray if that condition applies.

  you see, if jehovah willed something, why would he need to wait for you to ask him for it?

  I realized I was actually GOD when I found myself praying and knew I was talking to myself.

  their example- pray to a milk jug and you will find the answers to your Prayers are exactly the same as those to any god

  either something happens right away and SEEMS to be because of your prayer

  or nothing happens and you assume God is not ready, yet...but will grant it later.

  Could the WTBTS get JWs to kill?

  i'm not saying those in power would even contemplate doing this, but i wonder just how far jws would go to obey their leaders.

  would they go as far as to kill, if they thought god had given that message to 'his people'?.

  it would probably take years of subtle changes in their message so that it didn't come as a big shock.

  my former highschool buddy who got me into JWs said the scariest thing I ever heard from the JWs

  he told me that if the society said, this is armegeddon, kill all non-JWs in front of you... he would do it.

  I told him that I could not do such a thing as this sort of order would, to me, prove that God was not directing them, as he could not violate his own stated orders... namely to love your enemy...

  first off, Adam was not born immortal, he did not die because he ate of the tree, read the story, God lied, he never promised Adam immortality and he did not take away from Adam anything, what he did was prevent Adam from ARTIFICIALLY EXTENDING HIS LIFE.

  note that AFTER eating from the tree, Adam was still able to eat of the tree of life and live forever, but that would prove God lied, so God prevented this... but it had nothing to do with physically altering Adam or any of his Children... Adam died of OLD AGE, not because of sin.

  the gift of eternal life is just that.. the possibility of being granted EXTENDED life... we do not die because we sin or Adam sinned, we Die because we were made mortal to begin with and no one is EXTENDING our life.

  the whole concept of original sin is a lie created by the church.

  its not so much sexualization, but fantasy idealism. these children have been thoroughly taught to reject their own reality and to strive for some fantasy ideal which may or may not be attainable for them...

  seeking ones true potential may be noble, but being a slave to someone elses fantasy ideal is just that slavery.

  no nvr, that wasn't a challenge.....ok, maybe it was.. .

  this is one celebration i look forward to even more than christmas.. the world in general has christmas, and that's fun.. but only ex-jws have non-attendance of the memorial to celebrate.

  anyone else notice how the memorial talk completely contradicts clear bible verses which say that Judas WAS there when the bread and wine were passed out...just so they can make their false claim that ONLY members of the NEW COVENANT were to eat and drink of the emblems?

  lately i have been re-researching some things i learned as i was leaving the borg.

  for lurkers and newbies, i thought i would share this with you.. apparently long before the flood of noah, was a story told and recorded on 12 clay tablets, of a flood so simular to noahs that it will be shocking to you if you have never read about it.

  there was definitely a major flood evidenced by 300 ft of silt that buried a city where babylon was later built... world wide? hardly, but enough to be well remembered by the only major civilzation on earth of that time...

  from science around the world there seems to be places like Austrialian out back where dry lake beds show no signs of being wet in over a million years.

  Sea shells on mountain tops are found but that seems they come from the obvious signs of that part of the mountain once being at or below sea level and later up ended, not because they were mountains covered by a world ocean.

  as for Genesis, its internal evidence shows it was written AFTER a king already existed in Israel... and likely by Hezikaih the reformer, not by Moses who likely was a mythical character.

  trust those who seek THE TRUTH, but not those who claim to have found it.

  lets face it, all they have is a Belief System...and if it looks like BS and smells like BS it is likely to be BS.
